About our care services.
Abode Independence Home Care is a private home care agency that provides care services geared toward supporting older adults in maintaining their independence in the comfort of their own homes. All care services are provided by our compassionate Care Partners. After being chosen through a rigorous recruiting process, Care Partners are given extensive training on how to be an extension of you through our care services.
Each of our offered services reflects the diversity of the older adult population, ranging from support with everyday tasks such as housekeeping to providing emotional support to Clients who are facing terminal illnesses. These services are as follows:
General Home Care
Abode Independence Home Care specializes in providing in-home, nonmedical care for older adults. Our General Home Care is available for our clients who are living with normal changes in aging, including vision, strength, and endurance. For these changes, we support our Clients with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), including light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, pet care, and errand running.
Chronic Condition Care
Despite Abode Independence being a nonmedical care company, we provide personal care support for Clients living with chronic medical conditions, including glaucoma, arthritis, diabetes, incontinence, dementia, and pain. Along with providing General Home Care, we support our Clients living with these conditions support with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting.
Family Support Care
According to a 2013 study conducted on family caregiving trends in the United States, 40 million adults provided an average of 18 hours of caregiving per week to their aging, disabled, or chronically ill family elders. Despite this high occurrence, relying solely on family for care is extremely stressful financially, emotionally, and physically. At Abode Independence we are available to provide Family Support Care simultaneous to the care families are providing. Ways in which Clients will benefit from this type of support include:
-
Allowing Clients to enjoy leisure time with their family members.
-
Clients can be accompanied with someone they trust while their family members are away.
-
Generally relieving families from some of the stress of care.
-
Care Partners are available to provide Clients with support of both IADLs and ADLs when providing Family Support Care.
Terminal Illness Support Care
Abode Independence offers a range of support that reflects the diversity of the older adult population; therefore, we are also here to support those Clients facing terminal illness. Care Partners are available to provide Clients with support of both IADLs and ADLs during Terminal Illness Support Care, with an exceptional awareness of the emotional support essential during this time.
